Well, school started Wednesday, and you could use a word like ‘overwhelmed’ or any synonym for it to describe how I feel right now. Only two classes, but lots to do for each class. I am taking my classes at Kaplan University, which is an online college, so there are many more papers and projects to do to compensate for the time you would normally spend in each class. It is definetely going to be a challenge, but I think that I am up to it. It is exciting to be back in the swing of classes again. Lord, please guide me as I pursue your will in school. Help me to be a witness to you through my words to others.
Didn’t even smell like smoke?
January 29, 2008 at 10:06 pm (Uncategorized)
Last night we continued our journey through the book of Daniel in our Ladies Bible Study. We have been really enjoying the time of discussion and fellowship. I have read the book of Daniel before, but I have already found so many treasures in going through the first 3 chapters. Last night we talked about Hananiah (Shadrach), Misheal (Meshach), and Ananiah (Abednego) being thrown in the fiery furnace. First of all, I did not know that the guards that threw them in this furnace were killed, which is amazing in itself; but the neatest part of the whole lesson for me last night was hearing that when the king got them out of the furnace beacuse they were WALKING AROUND, they did not even SMELL LIKE SMOKE! Now I don’t know about you, but if I even walk past someone who is smoking or if I walk past a pile of burning leaves, I smell like it, (me, my clothes, my hair) all of me. These 3 men were delivered through this fire unharmed, and when the king sent them back out into the world that day, they did not even smell like smoke. Now, if that is not totally awesome! I think that this story shows the power of God in such an amazing way. If we trust him to bring us through, or as was the case with Shadrach, Meschach, and Abednego, walk with us through, these fires and trials in our lives without us bowing down to the gods this world wants us to bow to, we won’t even smell like smoke!
New Year’s Reso-what?
January 25, 2008 at 11:11 pm (Uncategorized)
O.k.- so I did not really set a New Year’s resolution to lose weight or exercise or any of that, but I have begun a new exercise regiment. For all of you who like a good video workout you can do in the comforts of your own home, I have found one that can make you quite uncomfortable (although I am sure it is a good workout). It is ‘Biggest Loser- Cardio Max’. I love that reality show, in fact, it is really the only show that I love to watch these days (who has time for t.v.?). But this exercise video has been, to say the least, quite painful. I mean, I consider myself semi-athletic. I played basketball in school and intermural sports in college, but WOW! I have done the Level 1 workout the past two days, but I think I am going to go on the DL for today. This was really on my mind this morning because I felt about 70 years old when I got out of bed this morning. So, if you are looking for a workout, and I mean one that will make you sore in muscles you never knew were there, I have found it for you! Give it a try.
A little change in the look

I was really loving my banana smoothie presentation on my site, but it was doing some crazy stuff. There were lines going through random words, and who knows what else (basically, i just can not fix that stuff- to tell the truth). I thought it went along well with the beginning of my schooling in Health and Nutrition, but it just won’t work out. I think the new look will be good! Still excited about sharing my thoughts with the world, even if I don’t get to look at the banana smoothie every time I write something new.
I am joining the world of BLOGGERS!
January 23, 2008 at 1:28 am (Uncategorized)
So, I watch Bill blog all the time; and I like to get on the blogs of his buddies and laugh at the funny stuff they say to each other (and of course glean knowledge from all the wisdom floating around amongst them). This is really cool for me. I am starting back to school in a week at Kaplan University (online) to get my Bachelor’s degree in Health and Wellness/ Nutrition. I am excited and nervous, mostly excited, and very ready for school to start. We are also going through the ‘Daniel: Lives of Integrity, Words of Prophecy’ Bible Study by Beth Moore at church on Monday nights. So many exciting things going on, and of course, Noah and Austin are getting big before my very eyes. My sweet boys are growing up too fast. Austin has TWO teeth now and is rolling around the floor. Noah is talking up a storm and getting very tall. When we say our ‘nite-nite prayers’, he says, “Jesus, Aaaamen”. It always makes me smile. Father, help me to raise these boys for your honor and glory.
